We believe in the importance of helping you achieve your goals and aspirations throughout your working life. At Greaves Consultancy, we work directly with employers and training providers to develop, implement and deliver mentoring circles. Our programme is available to all organisations within both the private and public sectors.
What are Mentoring circles
A mentoring circle is a type of action learning set which focuses on the personal development of those involved, including the mentor and the mentee. Back in 2013, Business in the Community (BITC) hosted a “Seeing is Believing” visit for employers, focusing on young unemployed people from a Black Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) background. In the Race Disparity Audit published in 2017, DWP identified 20 challenge areas where the employment gap between BAME and white job seekers is more than 10%.
Between June and October 2018, mentoring circles were delivered in 21 locations which included Smethwick as a voluntary area. This comprised of 63 mentoring sessions, 85 employer mentors supporting the initiative representing 27 companies. As a result, 590 young people started the mentoring circle.
