Greaves Consultancy works with employers to develop, implement and deliver mentoring circles within your organisations including both private and public sector.

Back in 2013, Business in the Community (BITC) hosted a “Seeing is Believing” visit for employers, focussing on young unemployed people from a Black Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) background. In the Race Disparity Audit published in 2017 DWP identified 20 challenge areas where the employment gap between BAME and white jobseekers is more than 10%.

Between June and October 2018 mentoring circles were delivered in 21 locations which included Smethwick as a voluntary area. This comprised of 63 mentoring sessions, 85 employer mentors supporting the initiative representing 27 companies. In total 590 young people started the mentoring circle.  A mentoring circle is a type of action learning set which focuses on the personal development of those involved including the mentor.
